Hello and welcome! We used to have a big list of mental healthcare providers that we’d gathered over the years based on our own research and recommendations of others. Unfortunately, this list became outdated during the pandemic. Plus, now there are many many online directories that assist you to find the therapist who is right for you.

Below, there’s a short list of local therapists below who you might like. Please know that the fact that someone is mentioned on our website isn’t necessarily a recommendation from Stonewall Youth and doesn’t mean we think they’re definitely the right person for you. We wholeheartedly encourage you to check out a wider range of mental healthcare providers to find the person who is right for you.

Many of the organizations and websites listed on our “General Resources” page offer assistance in finding good mental healthcare.

Here are some articles that you may find useful (the articles include links to many useful online directories):

This list is currently being updated - updates should be finished by March 2024.

Shariah Hunt, MA, Counselor, LMHCA

  • “I am a Black and Cambodian woman, born and raised on the unceded lands of the Coast Salish peoples (PNW). At the core of my practice is a holistic awareness, trauma-informed care, and social justice advocacy. I enjoy collaborating with people of color to access their innate healing power, reclaim ancestral knowledge, and achieve their vision of wellness. I practice with the beliefs that everyone is resilient, has the power to heal themselves, and is the expert of their own story. I have an interest in supporting those ready to process grief, trauma, life transitions, perinatal mental health, interpersonal challenges, multicultural and Queer, Trans, Non-binary, Black, Indigenous, and POC experiences.” (From Shariah’s bio on www.multiculturalcounselors.org)

  • Other services include referral letters: “Specific medical procedures may require additional documentation from a mental healthcare provider. Typically, these referrals support surgical procedures to address gender incongruence. Your insurance company, your surgeon, or the clinic you are receiving your procedure from all have the right to ask you for a letter of referral. Typically this request can be completed in a single session. My process is reflective of the current guidelines published by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.

  • Works with people ages 13-55

  • “I am a daughter of El Salvadoran immigrants; a daughter of the diaspora; a wounded healer; an intellectual, spiritual, and queer Chingon@. These are a few identities that influence how I interact/experience the world around me, and stories attached to them: past and present. In my therapeutic work, I continue to decolonize both my healing practices and myself….My work aims for the de-stigmatization and decolonization of mental health; and advocates for collective healing practices that are grounded in liberation, culture, and spirituality. I am a firm believer in collective healing: the power of connection, belonging, and love. Like a Girasol, I believe that we must look to each other for our collective liberation.”
