Winter 2020 Community Meeting

Winter 2020 Community Meeting @ Stonewall Youth.

Join the Stonewall Youth Collective and Community in talking about LGBTQ+ issues facing our local Olympia community and way to support each other/ combat them. We will also be discussing the future of Stonewall Youth as well as looking for community input about our next steps.

LGBTQ+ folks ages 12 to 24 are welcome to participate. Come through whether its your 100th time at Stonewall or your first time ever!

Stonewall Youth is an ADA Accessible, weapons free space located in downtown Olympia.

Leap Year Community Potluck

Join us on February 29, 2020 (Leap Day) from 5pm to 7pm as we put on our first community potluck of the year!

At this potluck we will be vision boarding and dreaming about the new year. Bring things to modge podge to your vision board or find inspiration with some materials provided by Stonewall.

Assemble your vision board while assembling your tacos! Stonewall Youth will be also be providing taco ingredients — if you are food secure, we ask that you brings sides or drinks.

Stonewall Youth is an ADA accessible, weapons free safer space. We are located at 112 State Ave NE.

Open Heart's Open Mic!

This Valentine’s Day come kick off a lovely evening with Stonewall Youth’s: Open Heart’s Open Mic!!! It’s bound to be a sweet show of poems, songs, stories, jokes, and confessions of the heart!

All ages and Identities welcome! The event is free to youth and we ask ages 21+ to pay a sliding-scale entrance fee of $3.
*Performance Slots open ONLY to LGBTQ youth ages 12-24* *Performers get in free*
*Refreshments provided!*


*Guitars, Bass, Piano, Ukulele, and Drums in varying conditions will be available for performer use! (please come before 5:30pm if you plan to use these)*

Rules of Performing:
- Sign-ups start @5, the show begins @5:30
- Respect the time set! Each performer gets a 5min spot to shine!
- All acts must be screened before the performance. There are limits to what we can allow. Any acts containing explicit violent or sexual content or acts containing discriminatory language won’t be allowed to perform.
- Use trigger warnings! Sometimes performances involve sensitive topics and we ask performers give the audience a heads up before starting, so we can all feel safe, supported, and have a good night :)

Trans Art Exhibition: Remember the Lost and Celebrate the Living

Join us for the Opening Night of the Trans Art Exhibition on Tuesday, November 26 at 5-7pm. The exhibit will remain open until Dec. 8. Admission to the Opening and the ongoing exhibit is free and open to all ages and identities.

Interested in showing your work at the exhibition? It’s open to trans artists of all ages and skill levels and mediums. If you’re interested in submitting work to the exhibition, please send an email ASAP to tomas@stonewallyouth.org with this information:

Masquerade of the Mystique!

Take a night and treat yourself, your family, your friends to an enchanting night of music, dance, art, and performance at this Fall’s premier event: Masquerade of the Mystique!

November 9th is your opportunity to go all-out and get all dressed up--whatever that means to you! Come as you are or how you’d like to be. The venue is Olympia’s own Hands On Children’s Museum, and many of their amenities and activities will be available.

Two stages will host music and variety performances. Beverages will be available, hor d'oeuvres and dessert provided, and dancing is encouraged! Professional child-care will be provided, so no babysitter needed.

Come out for an enchanting evening to support Stonewall Youth, an LGBTQ+ non-profit located in downtown Olympia, as we are raising funds to make our building completely ADA accessible. Masquerade of the Mystique! Is in Olympia, WA on November 9th, 2019. Buy your ticket at Brown Paper Tickets

Mask-Making Workshop

Mask-Making Workshop

Come on over to Stonewall Youth to make a mask on the day before Halloween! This workshop is OPEN FOR EVERYONE! We'll provide supplies for you to make your own masquerade-style mask. (And feel free to bring your own craft supplies to use and share.)

Celebrate Halloween in style! You can make a mask for yourself and/or make a mask for folks who attend our Masquerade of the Mystique on Nov. 9.

The workshop is free, but we're asking for a $5 donation for each mask if you want to take them home with you for keeps. Donations will help cover workshops expenses and support events for local LGBTQ+ youth!

Spooky Scary Stonewall Dance

Come one, come all, to Stonewall Youth's annual Homocoming dance! This year's theme is the corny, the goofy, the excessively extra type of spooky that you'd see in old cartoons and bargain-bin movies. From 6 PM to 9 PM on October 25th, bring your Halloween spirit to 112 State Avenue NE, Olympia WA 98501 and dance till you wake the dead.

This event is open to LGBT+ youth from the ages of 12-21. This is a safe, weapon free, ADA accessible space.

This dance is completely free! And if you want to support Youth, please feel free to provide a donation to our organization.

Stonewall Youth goes to the Pumpkin Patch!

LGBTQ+ youth: On Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019, Stonewall Youth is going to Schilter Pumpkin Patch to have fun amongst the pumpkins, corn maze, and fall treats!

We only have 10 spots, so sign up quickly!

Everyone who goes has to give us a Permission Slip. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian should sign it; if you’re 18 or older, you can sign it!

This slip must be completed and returned to Stonewall via our email: info@stonewallyouth.org or come down to Stonewall Youth’s building and drop it off with us directly. If you would like to go, please get these back to us by Friday October 18th, 2019!
