Yes, it's time for winter GLITTER CAMP: Dec. 9-11
Glitter Camp 2016 will be FABULOUS. This is Stonewall Youth’s almost-annual retreat for LGBTQQIA youth 21 & under, Stonewall staff, volunteers and Board members. Youth who've never attended Stonewall's programs are welcome!
There will be youth-led workshops, an open mic, free time, plenty of great food, opportunities for nature exploration, storytelling, and sitting by a cozy fire. We'll do some visioning about Stonewall’s future programs, etc. We'll all share the pleasure of cooking, eating, and cleaning together.
The camp is within 30 miles of Olympia. (Folks interested in attending can contact us via Facebook or info@stonewallyouth.org to get the location!) The camp has a heated lodge with a kitchen and fireplace, heated cabins, bathrooms with showers, and is in the woods near a body of water. It's beautiful!Glitter Camp is FREE for all attendees, though we could certainly use donations to cover our costs! Needed: money, sleeping bags, blankets, warm coats, food, flashlights, and more!
Keep going for all the details about participating, volunteering, the schedule, what you'll need to bring....Are you an LGBTQ+ youth (21 or under) who wants to attend Glitter Camp?
Contact us ASAP at info@stonewallyouth.org and we’ll send you the Camp application (it's an easy app!). The application will also be available at Stonewall during dropins. Youth under age 18 will need a permission slip signed by a parent/guardian. If you can’t stay the entire weekend, let us know. We may be able to arrange transpo from Oly on Saturday for people who just want to come for the day.
Are you an adult who's interested in volunteering? If you're Interested in volunteering for all or part of camp but haven’t ever volunteered for Stonewall (or haven’t volunteered in a while), contact us ASAP at info@stonewallyouth.org and we’ll see if we can make it work! There's all kinds of stuff you could do: help us with camp prep, like all the food shopping we need to do; help cook/clean, co-lead a hike in the woods, provide transpo to and from Oly, do some tarot readings with youth, share your wisdom/experience in a respectful supportive way, etc.
