I first started working at Stonewall Youth 3 years ago as an intern who was charged with organizing the annual Bowl-a-thon and I haven't been able to leave since! I am a recent graduate of the Evergreen State College and have lived in Olympia since I was born. I continue to appreciate the sense of community we have here and push to figure out ways we can continue to grow together. I am passionate about popular education, community organizing, art, support young people - and of course learning as much as I can about the world around me.

Karen Colpo
Treasurer

Hi I am Karen, the treasurer at Stonewall. I am also the Stonewall Mom. My heart is in Stonewall, because when my 14 year old daughter came out to me her first question was "Do you still love me?" As if being gay made her any different to me. She was the same person she always was. But in reality we still have a long struggle to gain the rights for my daughter to have everything my friend's daughters take for granted. I am grateful for the support and stability that Stonewall gives to LGBTQQ kids. They have a place to be at home, comfortable with who they are. And these kids are great people. My dream for Stonewall is that all youth who seek us will find us and make us their home, too.

Chris Taylor
Board Member

Chris stumbles into things, Stonewall Youth being only the most recent. Law school, then a criminal/police misconduct practice. Queer rights in Red states. Urban bicycling advocacy. Abrasive humor newspaper editing. Short film reviewing. Calculus tutoring. Chris finds a certain source of pride in his unique brand of rudderless volunteerism and the inertia that sustains him.
